How to reach Brno

 

By train and bus

There are train connections to Brno main station (Hlavní nádraží) from and to most European cities.

Main lines: Budapest – Bratislava – Brno – Prague – Berlin; Warsaw – Olomouc – Brno – Vienna

Regular long-distance buses departing from Zvonařka bus station and the Brno Hotel Grand station connect Brno with many cities across Europe.

By plane

Closest airports (in order of distance): Brno or Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria), Bratislava (Slovakia).

• Brno Airport (BRQ) – only limited connections – see http://www.airportbrno.cz/index.php?id=0&lang=en
• From Vienna Airport and Prague Airport there are convenient bus and train connections going to Brno. Check buses and trains of the Student Agency on http://www.studentagency.eu/ or Flix bus on https://www.flixbus.com.
• From Vienna Airport: There are about 7 direct bus connections from the airport per day operated by the Student Agency (http://www.studentagency.eu/); the bus ride takes about 2.5 hours; for train timetables see http://www.oebb.at/en/index.jsp .
• From Prague Airport: for timetables of trains and buses see http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz/vlakyautobusy/spojeni/. Connections run every hour; however it takes nearly 4 hours to get to Brno and includes changing in Prague at the Central Bus Station (see http://www.studentagency.eu/ ).

 

By car

Take motorway D1 (from Poland) – Ostrava – Olomouc – Prague – (Dresden – Berlin)

Take motorway with direction Bratislava D2 (from Vienna) – Vienna – Bratislava – Břeclav – Brno or take motorway E59 (from Vienna) – Vienna – Znojmo – Brno
